Based at the renowned Pain Management Centre at Burwood Hospital, you will join an experienced multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for people living with persistent pain. Our service delivers outpatient clinics, interventional pain procedures, group programmes and inpatient care, with a strong focus on restoring function and improving quality of life.

As a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician, you will have the opportunity to influence the future direction of the service while working alongside highly skilled physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and other medical specialists in a truly collaborative environment.

The Burwood Hospital Pain Management Centre is Canterbury's specialist tertiary pain service, caring for a population of more than 700,000 people across the South Island.

Our multidisciplinary team is recognised for delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care that supports people living with chronic non-malignant pain. You will work in modern facilities alongside clinicians who are passionate about innovation, collaboration and improving patient outcomes.

About You

You will be a vocationally registered Specialist Pain Medicine Physician (or eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand) who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver outstanding patient care.

You will also bring:

• Fellowship (or equivalent specialist qualification) in Pain Medicine
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary pain management service
• Expertise in the assessment and management of complex persistent pain conditions
• A collaborative approach and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centred care
• An interest in service development, quality improvement, teaching or research will be highly regarded
