Mō te tūnga | About the role

Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha Canterbury is home to an innovative Pain Management Centre at Burwood Hospital working with people who have chronic non-malignant pain, and frequently an array of other factors affecting their wellbeing.

The Pain Management Centre works as an Interdisciplinary Team to help patients reclaim areas of function in their lives that have been lost as a result of chronic pain. The co-ordinated interdisciplinary service provides outpatient clinics and programmes; interventional procedures and occasional inpatient admissions. The team is in the process of rebuilding and seeks leaders to assist with regaining Faculty of Pain Medicine accreditation as a recognised training centre.

We are looking for a permanent full time or part time Pain Medicine Physician, Holistic experience within a multidisciplinary team is essential.

To be considered for this position you will need to be eligible to get registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, and you must qualify according to the terms and conditions laid down by the Faculty of Pain Medicine. If you not a fellow of FPM Australia and NZ  please do the self-assessment for specialist international medical graduates in the link below

Note that you need to select “Australia” ANZCA | SIMG Quiz .This will guide you whether your qualifications  are equivalent to FPM fellow of Australia and New Zealand.
